Details
The Gilman Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship program for U.S. citizens of limited financial means to enable them to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. The program provides awards of up to $5,000 for students who are U.S. citizens, Federal Pell Grant recipients, and studying at the undergraduate level at a two- or four-year institution. Following their return, Gilman Scholars complete a Follow-On Service Project to promote both the Gilman Scholarship and study abroad opportunities.
To be eligible for a Gilman Scholarship, an applicant must be:
• A citizen or national of the United States
• Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program.
• In the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad program or internship program.
The Office of National Undergraduate Fellowships is hosting a workshop on the Gilman Scholarship on Tuesday, September 9 at 4pm in Hyer 110. Please join us!
