“Reyna Grande at the Dallas Museum of Art” (May 18, 2026) – Group visit with students and faculty at SMU to attend the Dallas Museum of Art’s Arts & Letters Live event featuring award-winning author Reyna Grande in conversation with journalist Dianne Solis. SMU attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a special meet and greet with Reyna Grande before the event.

Centered on Grande’s memoir-in-essays Migrant Heart, the event explored themes of immigration, identity, belonging, resilience, healing, and the emotional dimensions of the American Dream. The initiative promoted intercultural awareness, empathy, and meaningful dialogue through literature and shared community engagement, particularly in connection with the experiences of immigrants and heritage speakers.
