Lunch with a Law Student

This event will provide an opportunity to chat with a lawyer or law student in a small group setting. Lunch will be provided.

Guest Information:

Hailey Soupiset is a first-year law student at SMU Dedman School of Law. Before law school, she graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University, where she studied Political Science with minors in Corporate Communication and Religion. While at Baylor, she was involved in several student organizations, including mock trial, and spent a summer studying abroad in London. Prior to starting law school, Hailey worked as a paralegal at a Central Texas law firm. She will be joining Kirkland & Ellis as a Summer Associate in 2026 and is interested in litigation and appellate advocacy.

Sophia Tomotaki is a first-year law student at the SMU Dedman School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Accounting from Texas A&M University. Prior to law school, Sophia worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young, where she obtained her CPA. She later spent a year teaching fifth grade, an experience that strengthened her communication skills and commitment to service, before returning to pursue a legal education. At SMU Dedman, Sophia is actively involved in the Women in Law Society and the Christian Legal Society, and she also serves as a first-year student ambassador for the law school.
