Caswell Leadership Fellows Workshops

The Caswell Leadership Fellows Program is a year-long leadership development experience designed for undergraduate students who are passionate about creating meaningful change. Through this program, fellows have the opportunity to design and implement an impact project—an initiative driven by their personal passions that addresses a need within the SMU or greater Dallas community.

Fellows are supported throughout the process with intentional leadership development and hands-on guidance. Each participant receives comprehensive support, including one-on-one advising, biweekly leadership workshops, and structured project development resources. In addition, fellows may receive seed funding

The program emphasizes both personal and applied leadership growth. Students not only develop their leadership identity but also gain practical experience in project planning, budgeting, collaboration, and communication. Fellows engage deeply with the SMU Leadership Framework, applying its principles through ethical decision-making, accountability, and service to others.

Throughout the academic year, fellows work to transform their vision into tangible impact—designing sustainable projects, managing resources, and presenting their work to stakeholders. The experience is designed to help students move from idea to action while building the skills and confidence needed to lead in diverse settings
